James B. Woywod
James Woywod concentrates his practice on litigation, regulatory and administrative law, and the representation of electric cooperatives.
Prior to joining Wheeler, Van Sickle & Anderson, S.C., James gained extensive courtroom experience as an assistant district attorney handling the prosecution of a variety of felony and misdemeanor offenses. He effectively negotiated resolutions, litigated motions, prepared witnesses, and brought cases to trial before juries and the bench.
James also has significant experience in utility and regulatory matters. He worked as a staff attorney for a nonprofit organization representing the interests of residential and small business public utility customers. In that role he handled data and production requests, written testimony, and briefing in rate, construction, and policy dockets before the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin.
James began his legal career in Illinois as an assistant city attorney for a municipality in suburban Chicago. He drafted proposed ordinances, prosecuted city code violations, and assisted corporation counsel with litigation brought against the city.
James joined Wheeler, Van Sickle & Anderson, S.C. as an associate attorney in 2022. He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and Illinois State Bar Association.
